We are an informal friendly gathering of professional creative practitioners from different art forms that meet once a month to share and extend our practice.
The sessions are led by choreographer Claire Pençak and commence from a body based, performative practice but are presented in a way that can be taken up and adapted to individual art forms. The group includes movement practitioners, visual artists and musicians. Writers would be most welcome to join!
The two-hour sessions are an opportunity to explore improvisational and compositional structures, consider diverse approaches to space and time and to develop alternative vocabularies.
It is also an opportunity to meet and share our practices and ideas with a wide range of other artists from the Scottish Borders.
Whilst it is desirable that people can attend regularly we understand that this is not always possible and are happy for people to drop in – however it is useful if you can let Claire know if you intend to come along.
Please arrive promptly so that we can all start together, bring any materials you might want to use and wear loose comfortable clothing.
The sessions are free of charge this year thanks to funding from Live Borders.
